Dear members

We hope you are looking forward to a successful show season with your horse or pony as a member of Accrington and District Riding Club.

OUR VENUE FOR 2010: The Showfield, Harwood Bar, Great Harwood.

We are pleased to announce that we will be holding our shows at a new venue from April 2010: The Showfield, Harwood Bar, Great Harwood, Lancashire, this is the show field owned by Great Harwood show. Our new venue offers a larger space and benefits from a network of roads across the site, which will make parking and access easier, we are sure you will agree this will enhance our club and hopefully ensure we will not need to cancel any shows in future.

2010 MEMBERSHIP

We will be asking 2009 members to renew their 2010 membership in the usual way. We had hoped to offer a free membership to existing members but this sadly is not financially viable and we need to ‘tighten our belts’ to ensure we remain a sustainable club during 2010 and beyond. We all hope you can understand the reason for making this difficult decision regarding membership, but we are sure you will agree that we all wish to maintain the high standards our club aspires to.  I have enclosed a new membership form for you to complete with as usual reduced fees if paid before 1^st April.

2010 FEES

We will not be increasing the cost of membership or entry fees for 2010.

2010 SPONSORSHIP

You will also find enclosed a sponsorship form for 2010, we rely heavily on our sponsors to ensure our standard of rosettes and trophies at the presentation are the best we can have, also an advert can be placed in the 2010 schedule for the sponsor.

TRAINING

During the 2010 show season, we will be organising affordable training sessions for our 2010 members with quality tutors/experts, which will include:

-          Show preparation demo (trimming, plaiting etc)

-          Successful in hand showing

-          How to ride a ridden showing class

-          How  to be a successful working hunter rider

-          Show jumping training

-          Equine first aid demo

-          Human first aid – what to do in an emergency

More information about our training sessions will be emailed or posted to our members in due course.
